Letter from the Chair . . . .
The Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) takes our responsibility
seriously to achieve our vision of excellence in education in the radiologic sciences. The
JRCERT is guided by our core values:
Believes educational quality and integrity should not be compromised.
Respects and protects the rights of students.
Promotes the welfare of patients.
Encourages educational innovation.
Collaborates with other organizations to advance the profession.
Exemplifies the highest ethical principles in its actions and decisions.
Responds in a proactive and dynamic manner to the environment in which we operate.
Letter from the Chair
Throughout the year, these values influenced our work and the strategies we employed to fulfill
our vision. In 2017, the noteworthy issues that the JRCERT engaged were as follows:
Received continued recognition by the United States Department of Education (USDE) for
a period of 5 years (maximum award).
Received continued recognition by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation
(CHEA) after submission of our Interim Report.
Posted the first draft of the Standards for comments from our communities of interest.
Launched a new website.
Revised the JRCERT Strategic Plan.
Created a new position for a Director of Instructional Design and Technology to develop
innovative electronic learning modules and create online courses.
Adopted the revised American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Radiography
Curriculum.
Implemented a process to accept electronic payments.
Continued to publish the Pulse Newsletter to share information with our programs.
Presented a redesigned assessment workshop.
Met with the ASRT at their annual meeting to discuss current issues in the profession.
Presented on various accreditation issues at many state and national professional meetings.
Conducted accreditation seminars, outcomes assessment workshops, and site visitor
workshops.
Throughout the year, the JRCERT Board of Directors and staff worked determinedly to address
issues facing our programs and the professional community in accordance with our core values.
The perseverance and devotion of the Board and staff has assured that the mission and vision of
the JRCERT continues to drive our work. As always, the support of our programs and the
radiologic sciences profession is essential and what makes the work of the JRCERT possible.
On behalf of the JRCERT Directors and staff, I wish to thank you for your continued support of
programmatic accreditation.
