How to Prepare for a Site Visit
extensive time reviewing documents, interviewing
students and clinical instructors, touring designated
medical facilities, and meeting with program faculty.
They will provide a verbal report of their findings to the
program director for clarification purposes.
An exit summation is conducted with the program
faculty and the institution administrators. After the
summation, any further communication takes place
between the program and the JRCERT office because
the site visit is considered complete. The official report
of findings will be provided to the program from the
JRCERT via the program portal.
Conclusion
There are several key points to remember about
preparing for a site visit. First, ensure that the JRCERT
and the site visit team are provided with a well-rounded
vision of the program by presenting an organized and
clearly composed self-study report that includes exhibit
documentation that supports the narrative. Second,
remember that site visitors are peers; they are volunteer
program faculty with additional in-depth training. They
are there as fact finders to perform a comprehensive
review of the program, but they also are there to assist,
guide, and inform program directors, faculty, clinical
staff, students, and administrative personnel about the
Standards. It is appropriate to ask questions and seek
clarification. Finally, program faculty must be available
during the site visit to assist the site visitors throughout
the visit to assure the visit moves forward smoothly,
efficiently, and successfully.
