4.9 The program has procedures for maintaining the integrity of distance
education courses.

Explanation:
Programs that offer distance education courses must have processes in place that assure that the
students who register in the distance education courses are the same students that participate in,
complete, and receive the credit. Programs must verify the identity of students by using methods such
as, but not limited to, secure logins, passcodes, proctored exams, and/or video monitoring. These
processes must protect the student’s privacy.

Required Program Response:

• Describe the process for assuring the integrity of distance education courses.
• Provide published institutional/program materials that outline procedures for maintaining the
integrity of distance education courses.

• Review of published institutional/program materials
